Self Esteem

~ "No one can make you feel inferior without your permission" ~

It is important for us to commit to making changes when working on building our self esteem and confidence.  People suffer from low self-esteem for many different reasons.  If you have a low self esteem you may feel as though you are worthless, you may have alot of anxiety and stress.  It may be difficult for you to think positive about yourself and your life, and you may feel depressed.

To begin working on improving your self esteem, you may want to begin by writing some of the issues that you think may have contributed to your low self esteem.  You may also want to list some of the people who aggravate you.  Ask yourself why you think the person aggravates you.  Can you forgive them?  Pay attention to your reactions and feelings as you are writing.  Pay attention to when you feel depressed, uncomfortable, discouraged, aggravated, frustrated, out of control.  Ask yourself why you might not be valuing yourself while in that situation.

Try to find creative ways to make the necessary changes needed in order for you to start valuing yourself and for you to take responsibility for yourself and your life.  Do whatever it takes you to get in touch with your true self.  Finding your true self is an adventure you should not want to miss in life.  Once you have identified the problems contributing to your negative thinking, you will want to begin paying attention to and focusing on the positive.

You may want to begin by listing some of the people that you identify with.  Ask yourself why you think you might identify with them?   Is there something you admire about them?   Perhaps, you admire the way the person communicates their needs.  When you recognize things such as this, ask yourself how you can begin making changes to improve in that particular area.   Making changes takes time, if you can’t find an immediate answer about how to make the improvement, add it to your goal list!

Always remember to pay attention to when you feel good about yourself, when you feel happy, satisfied.   Honor your strengths, skills and talents.  Building self esteem and confidence is dependent on breaking negative habits and developing new positive habits.  The main habit that you need to break is the habit of negative thinking.  You may have been thinking negative for so long that you may think that these thoughts can’t be changed-you can change your way of thinking and you can improve your self esteem.
